Description

Do you hunt with your Surron and struggle with traction?  Do you like to ride trails where only mountain goats belong?  We’ve crafted the perfect recipe for an ultra-sticky tire combo that will give you the most amount of traction possible for the Rocky Mountains or any trail with lots of rocks and roots.  Like all Charged Cycle Works wheels and tires these fit your Surron without any modifications or cutting off knobs.

IRC 21" is not compatible with RST Killah Forks!  If you have an RST Killah we can substitute a K990 or Mitas front tire into this package to fit.  But you must inform us of this immediately after your order.

19”/21" Wheelset includes:

  • 21” Excel front wheel with 10g spokes
  • 19” Excel rear wheel with 10g spokes
  • Gold Charged Cycle Works Billet Aluminum hubs
  • (2) 2mm HD Tubes
  • 21” IRC Gekkota Tire (mounted to wheel)
  • 19x3.5” Shinko SR241 Tire (mounted to wheel)
  • 64t Warp9 Sprocket
  • Primary Drive Chain - 116 Links

21” Wheel + 19" Tire

  • 21” Excel or Tusk Wheel with 10g spokes and Billet Aluminum hub (OEM substituted if billet are not available)
  • (2) 2mm HD Tubes
  • 21” IRC Gekkota Tire (mounted to wheel)
  • 19x3.5” Shinko SR241 Tire (compatible with your OEM rear wheel)
  • 64t Warp9 Sprocket
  • Primary Drive Chain - 116 Links
  • Spoke wrench for your rear OEM wheel which MIGHT require a small amount of dishing to fit the 3.5" tire.  Watch our video to see how easy this is to DIY.

19" Excel rear wheel

  • 19” Excel rear wheel with 10g spokes
  • Gold Charged Cycle Works Billet Aluminum hub
  • 2mm HD Tubes
  • 19x3.5” Shinko SR241 Tire (mounted to wheel)

19" Rear OEM Take-off

  • 19” OEM surron rear wheel and hub (take-off)
  • (1) 2mm HD Tubes
  • 19x3.5” Shinko SR241 Tire (mounted to OEM wheel)
  • 64t Warp9 Sprocket
  • Primary Drive Chain - 116 Links
  • NOTE: This must be matched to a 21" front wheel for proper chassis geometry, please do not use this with an OEM 19" front wheel, it will be a terrible setup.  If you do not already have a 21" front then you'll need to buy one of the other options.  THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE A FRONT WHEEL OR TIRE

Front Tire: 21” IRC Gekkota Ultra Gummy is the stickiest compound tire we’ve ever experienced.  The rubber is so soft you can twist the knobs with your finger nearly 90 degrees!

Rear Tire: Shinko SR241 Trials 3.5x19” is one of the tires that started the sticky/gummy movement in off road tires.  These tires are incredible for conforming to the terrain and grabbing traction.  Best of all, you can run this tire on your OEM 19” rear rim if you don’t want to upgrade your rear wheel which will save you almost $500.  This is a very large diameter tire, the biggest of any we sell.  We do not recommend using an aftermarket lift linkage with this tire because the large diameter lifts the bike by more than 1".

Sprocket: 64t Warp9 Sprocket for that extra-low end crawling torque.  Other sprocket sizes are available based on inventory.  There are two reasons we paired a 64t sprocket with this package, #1 this is a very large diameter tire and you need a large sprocket to compensate for the increased diameter.  #2 when you are crawling around in technical terrain you want to be geared low.

Wheelset: Excel rims laced to Made in the USA Charged Cycle Works billet aluminum hubs and Buchanan 10g stainless steel spokes for ultimate reliability.

Tire Pressure: By running really low tires pressures <15psi the extra soft carcass of these tires will mold to your terrain giving you incredible amounts of traction.

What is an OEM Take Off Wheel?

A take-off wheel comes from a bike which we upgraded to a different wheelset and the owner did not want their OEM wheel.  These are sometimes brand new wheels, or at most slightly used with low hours and no damage.  We take these wheels, clean them, inspect and adjust spokes, install a brand new tire and tube, and if necessary dish the wheel to ensure it clears the chain with a larger 3.5 tire.

IRC GEKKOTA IS NOT FOR ON ROAD RIDING!
